How to Take this Course

This QME course is a little different from our other offerings.  For this course, simply open this pdf document (Guide to the Guides or click here) and either print a copy or read from your display.  After reviewing the material, log in, take the test, complete the evaluation and purchase your CE certificate.  Please note that the test-help feature is not active on this course since it is based on a document. However, you can take the test until you pass.  As with all of our QME courses, this material is approved for ALL disciplines.

Overview of the Course

The AMA Guides to the Evaluation of Permanent Impairment, Fifth Edition is the standard for rating impairment. Physicians and others are trying to learn it and then apply it in a fair and equitable manner. It is imperative that the physician understand and follow the principles of the Guides. Chapter 1 Philosophy, Purpose and Appropriate Use of the Guides and Chapter 2 Practical Applications of the Guides define standards that apply to all ratings. The individual chapters define principles of assessment and the rating process. This resource is designed to simplify use of the AMA Guides to the Evaluation of Permanent Impairment and improve the accuracy of ratings. The reality is that there is no easy way to learn the AMA Guides but this is an approach at perhaps making it a little simpler
